Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Paarl-Franschhoek mountains, the Veuve Clicquot Masters Polo 2019 was a day of prestige, high fashion, and the thrill of the sport.
In their best polo chic, more than 2500 guests descended upon a yellow-painted Val de Vie estate, enjoying chilled champagne and choclatey canapes as they socialised in luxury.

The VIP guest list saw the likes of international and Pan-African celebrities, dignitaries, and influencers including American actor Terrence ‘J’ Jenkins who flew in from Los Angeles for the weekend event.
South African actress Nomzamo Mbatha returned for a 3rd time to orchestrate hosting duties alongside well-known presenter Mark Bayly as they kept guests entertained and informed throughout the proceedings.
The main match between team Veuve Clicquot and team Maserati proved to be the highlight of the event, being the highest-goaled Veuve Clicquot Masters Polo match to take place at the Val de Vie estate. The intense action demanded extreme skill from both sides keeping guests on the edge of their seats as they watched team Veuve Clicquot take the victory with a final score of 7 vs 5 and a half.
The most valued player of the day was awarded to Ben Crowe and the best playing pony awarded to Argo, owned by Dirk van Reenen.
La Martina, the event’s Official Fashion Partner, delighted guests with a polo-inspired fashion show before the sun went on to set behind the Simonsberg Mountains.
