The Veuve Clicquot Masters Polo 2018 Round-up

A-listers, the beautiful Cape Town weather and one of the most prestigious equestrian estates in the world set the mood for what was a lovely social outing in March.

The Veuve Clicquot Masters Polo 2018, hosted at the exquisite Val de Vie Equestrian Estate, is a highlight of the South African polo season, drawing fashion and equestrian lovers to Paarl, in Cape Town. The social event, now in its 8th year, was well attended by both international and local celebrities, all dressed in their designer best. The gorgeous and ever so stylish Nomzamo Mbatha returned as host of the event for a second time.

Several top stars made a fashionable appearance at the Val de Vie Polo Club in Paarl on Saturday, with Tony award-winning actress, Anika Noni Rose, making an appearance.

Her pleated, ultra-violet dress, paired with a vintage fascinator made for a luxurious look worth marvelling at. This year’s theme, ‘A Cape Town Summer’ as well as the iconic equestrian venue, speaks directly to the DNA of the La Martina brand. The La Martina collection opens and provides for different variations, inspirations and cuts, blending elements from the Argentine origins of the brand with a spirit of the English nonchalant elegance.

The natural cosmopolitanism of our brand has a strong influence on the taste and style of the polo based lifestyle; with the clothing being a reflexion of the places, flavors, fragrances, of life lived in every city and town. A wealth of infinite experiences.

In La Martina style, we were happy to sponsor the winning gifts to the player of the tournament as well as the best dressed Man and Woman at the event. Model, Zola Msizi, walked away with the coveted ‘Best Dressed Man’ award for his dapper muted Pink 3 piece suit, expertly fitted and finished off with a pair of white sneakers for that laid-back look. The Best dressed Woman award went to Adeola, also a model from Cape Town. She looked like a dream in a mono-chrome custom Elrico Zarr piece; his take on the classic woman’s suit.

Let’s raise our glasses to another well organised day of polo, great fashion and flowing champagne. Find your nearest Geri Boutique and Mono Brand stores here.
